If I were to choose a member of the Corps of Discovery to go with on my journey, I would choose Sacagawea. I would choose her because she could translate everything we were saying into her own language. I would also choose her because she posed as a sign of peace. Being a woman with party of men was a sign of peace. This was good because one of their tasks was to make good relations.

Sacagawea would be a good person to go with because she would act like a mother figure and make sure that we were safe because most of the land they were exploring was Native Americans land and Sacagawea's home land. She is a good choice because with her the group wasn’t thought to be a war group. This gave them an advantage because the Native Americans would most likely not attack with a woman in their presence.

Plant: Lewis and Clark encountered the Dwarf Mountain Fleabane. This is a type of daisy with long roots and white leaves. They would have though the plant was interesting because it was a dwarf like plant with woolly, white, fuzzy and soft leaves and roots. They would have also though the plant was dull because there wasn’t much color to draw their attention.
Animal: During the Lewis and Clark expedition, they encountered a fierce grizzly bear(Ursus arctos horribilis). It was very big, had brown or black fur, very long claws, and black eyes. They did not like the animal because it was vicious and really hard to get rid of. When they encountered this creature, they trying killing it with their weapons but it wouldn’t give in easily. It took several bullets before the animal was pronounced dead.

During the journey, they encountered the Teton Sioux Indians. The Teton chief is Black Buffalo. The Teton Sioux occupied two villages near present-day Pierre, South Dakota. One village was located on the Missouri River itself, while the other was situated off a tributary, the Bad River. They were known for their aggressiveness and power. Another thing they are known for is their relationship with their Arikara neighbors. The Teton Sioux hosted the Corps of discovery. During the Corps’ stay, Clark made detailed notes of Teton culture. In his journal, the Tetons are described as thin, small and generally ill-looking. Teton men wore hawk feathers about their heads and robes over their bodies, while women dressed in buffalo skins and robes. There were a number of fights between the Tetons and the Corps’ of Discovery. No one spoke to the Sioux group and the inability of the two groups to communicate effectively played a significant part in several misunderstandings.
