Ellen, Lisa and Candyce are our Breastfeeding Network-trained Infant Feeding Supporters. They run breastfeeding stay and play groups on the Island, and offer Teams, telephone and email support to breastfeeding families. They are all passionate advocates of breastfeeding and enjoy supporting families on their journeys!

Breastfeeding Support when you need it

For health advice, your first port of call will be your midwife or Health Visitor, depending on your baby's age. You can also access free peer support from trained workers and volunteers at Barnardo's

Health Visiting Infant Feeding Team

Debbie (Infant Feeding Coordinator) and Liz (Infant Feeding Support Worker) work within the Health Visiting Team on the Island. Debbie has a background in midwifery and experience as a specialist public health nurse, while Liz has extensive experience working in SCBU, supporting parents and their babies with feeding challenges. Both have a wealth of experience working with babies and families and share a passion to support parents on their feeding journeys, ensuring women feel encouraged and supported in their chosen method of feeding. They are also working to achieve UNICEF Baby Friendly Accreditation, which will recognise their commitment to ensuring they are meeting best standards in their knowledge and practice to support infant feeding and relationship building for the families in their care.

Are you more than 10 weeks pregnant or have parental responsibility for at

least one child under four years old?

In addition, receiving any of the following:

Universal Credit
Pension Credit (which includes the child addition)
if you're under 18 and more than 10 weeks pregnant, even if you don’t receive any benefits.
