We also watched the videos shared on this Padlet page, where the pupils from Latvia showed how they combed and prepared the wool. This is the same wool they sent to us as part of our cooperation.

Our pupils visited a “travel cinema” event, where they learned about the country of Ecuador. One part of the film showed how alpaca wool is processed, so they could compare the two traditions.

In the classroom, we tried working with wool for the first time. Using small moulds and special needles, the pupils created simple Christmas decorations. It was a new and exciting experience for them.

We are still waiting for the package from Latvia to arrive, and our pupils are looking forward to working with the wool prepared by their Latvian partners.

We created bookmarks with a wool-themed motto, each decorated with a small wool pom-pom.

As part of the "Wool Wonders Project" conducted at our school, students participated in activities such as making blankets from wool and weaving rugs on a loom. Through these activities, which utilized natural and sustainable materials, students had the opportunity to learn about traditional handicrafts firsthand.

During the activities, students learned the stages of wool processing while simultaneously developing patience, attention, and manual dexterity. Through the applications on the rug weaving loom, students discovered the importance of weaving, a part of our cultural heritage.

The "Wool Wonders Project" contributed to students gaining an understanding of environmentally friendly production, while allowing them to learn the value of production and hard work through experience.
