         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of my best teaching experiences was in the context of the ERASMUS+ school exchange, where students had to present orally objects/habits of their place, their daily lives. Given their linguistic level in the foreign language, they did well.. they had to find pictures, learn their words,bring ,if possible, their objects! It was a nice experience because I saw their enthousiasm and their need to be understood by their french partners!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I proposed the topic of migration to my class. About 30% of my students came from different backgrouds so the starting point was to collect the stories of their parents and share them. In a plenary discussion we focused on the reasons why people leave their countries, we investigated feelings, discussed perspectives and difficulties of living in a different place. In groups we went through biographies of successful migrants. The final task was for the students to create a comic strip and develop a story. We collected all the strips in a Padlet and made it public</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the recent most successful teaching experiences I can reflect on is designing a poster about covid-19 for the eTwinning project All together against the coronavirus. Fifth graders in my country have a whole theme in the curriculum dedicated to health issues. I used one of the most important topics at that time to ask the students to design a poster on the theme. First of all, they researched the theme, because it was their first time learning about health issues on the English classes. During the activity, they learnt a lot about health and a lot about the important topic. They also understood the usage of some of the modal verbs connected to the topic, and created a few activities on the theme. After the project they used some of the web tools for other projects and with other teachers. I was really proud of them because they continued using something I showed to them. This activity is a PBL activity because the students were presented only with the tools and guided to some extent. They came up on their own to all the information needed for the poster and for the other activities.&nbsp; &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The topic concerned the recycling of clothes. The students were separated in groups and were asked to research the process of recycling clothes and the options existing in our neighbourhood. They soon realized that they could not recycle clothes locally. Each group was asked to produce a specific outcome: a poster describing pollution caused by clothing, a map depicting the areas where one could recycle clothes, a leaflet giving information on the organizations that recycle clothes, a letter of complaint to the local council requesting a solution to the problem (no points of recycling in our area).<br>This project encouraged students not only to learn specific facts about the topic, but also to become active citizens.&nbsp;<br>PBL experience.</div>]]></description>

They were asked to create some type of oral product about a theme/cause/phenomenon on the basis of their communication on SoMe.          <description><![CDATA[<div>A sucessful PBL project was the one on the topic "seas". Students researched on the different sea animals, pollution and its results on the environment in all the subject areas of the curriculum. For example, in the subject Arts they drew fish on cardbox and glued the diferent bits of plastic they found in their biology lesson at the beach. Our school is 10 min walk to the beach. This is of course a great location for this topic and students are well aware of the enviromental damages. Students got to talk to experts on the seas that joined by zoom and asked questions in real time, that they had collected in the Portuguese lesson. There were also students from different year groups doing the same topic. Ebooks were made and posters were throughout school.</div>]]></description>

         <title>PBL - Real vs fake news</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students worked in teams of 3/4 and they had to record two versions of a piece of news: a real and a fake one. In the first stage of the project, each student had to do some research on their own on the topic. Then each team had to choose some news and they also had a role play activity where they had to pretend to be a news crew and deliver the two pieces of news- the real and the fake one. They found this particular activity very engaging and appealing; they collaborate and took their roles very seriously: from editing to news presenting.&nbsp;The final outcome was a quiz made up of the recordings of all the teams involved in the project to which students had to correctly identify the real and the fake news.<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
