Leaders are stars, they are people that others look up to and influence people to strive to be a better version of themselves. Leadership is taking lead and working with a group of people to reach a common goal. Leadership is assisting others in their journey toward improvement. Leaders are people who fight for their beliefs, someone who doesn’t back down from something unless they are wrong.

Leaders are willing, responsible, and realistic. Knowing that leaders offer a helping hand to others, a willing mindset is essential. Not to mention how leaders have to be able to accept responsibility for their faults or faults of the people they are in charge of. Being able to be realistic ensures others that you are a down to earth person. If a leader is realistic, they don’t set goals that are impossible to accomplish and they don’t lead someone astray due to creating false hope in something that is impossible.

Being trustworthy allows for your team members to be able to believe that you are fit to lead them toward success, rather than leading them astray. This inserts confidence in the members, letting them know that their leader will not abandon them when things become byzantine.
Being realistic works alongside trust. Having the ability to set goals that are achievable and that don’t lead people astray due to creating false hope in something that is impossible is essential for a leader.

Democratic leadership is where the leader allows the team to have their own space, but at the same time is involved enough to be able to achieve a goal. Authoritarian leadership is where the leader controls the group and "dictates" everything that has to be done. Laissez-Faire leadership is where the leader is lenient and “loose” with the members.
Personally, I am a Democratic leader, since I place my trust with them to be able to carry through with their responsibilities. A democratic leader is the opposite of an Authoritarian leader, which basically creates a tyrannical relationship between the leader and group members.

Communication, one of the foundations of becoming a leader. Interacting with your teammates and sharing an understanding of the common goal. Not only, but this impedes in the creation of an effective/exceptional team.
A leader is usually the representative of a group, meaning if the leader is not confident, how can the members be? I have been told countless times that I seem to never be confident or sure with anything. This means that if I can’t have confidence in myself, I cannot have confidence in my group. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, confidence plays a significant role in how well your group can be, similar to how communication can affect the team.

As stated earlier, a democratic leader is someone who shares the responsibilities with their group members and doesn't claim control over them.
One Democratic leader would be Thomas Jefferson, who attended The College of William and Mary, like other presidents. He could fall under many professions, however, he is most known for being the 3rd president of the United States.
