park chanyeol - at age 10, more or less - butt glued to the carpeted floor of the living area, eyes on the other hand glued to the screen of the park's bulky box-shaped telly.

film noir playing on the convex screen. volume scarcely audible. it is 10-something o'clock in the evening, way past his bedtime.

tomorrow, park chanyeol would awaken with swollen eyes from lack of sleep. would slip on a guiltless grin as his parents loom over his stubby build with a look of disappointment plastered across their faces. but, their creased foreheads and knitted brows tell him they're more worried than upset. so, he makes it his routine.

he had indeed been a stubborn one. now, at a later age, he'd still slip on a grin - this time, a timid one - as the family recalls of the young, innocent park chanyeol he once was.

park chanyeol, at age 15 onwards, was a handful to bear. was more fickle than the weather, was a carbon copy of swiper the fox, for lack of a better analogy.

had assembled a band, dubbed it "the pcychotics," though he was merely the drummer at the back of every performance, stage lights never quite reaching him. listened to 'alt-rock,' and had automatically deemed he was better than those who listen to generic pop.

though, as mentioned before, he was fickle. the next moment, the four walls of his room go back to resembling a blank off-white canvas, save for a few patches of paint flaked. posters of rock bands he had known nowhere in sight.

the chanyeol in that particular moment, reckoned tchaikovsky a hymn to his ears.

he pursued law on a mere whim. fairly hard to swallow considering this particular study needs much effort or skill to accomplish, deal with, understand.

even so, he made it.

six years of strenuous studying and here he is,

lingering by the defendant table, gaze glued to his shoes, pointed toed and polished perfect, ears taking in every syllable tumbling out the prosecutor's mouth, just waiting for the right moment to lift his hand, and with utter phlegm,

"your honour, i object."

resides in no. 1703 of the 17th floor of duxbury. quite a conservative one for the number 17 is what you'd call his 'lucky number,' hence the choice of floor level.
on most weekday mornings, you could spot his jet black merc speeding out the underground parking of the condo then proceed to drive at 90 tops to his morning court sessions he's late for more often than not.
occasionally, you would see his dashing self dashing out the condo's main lobby with a suitcase - thick with disorganised case files - in one hand and his tie gripped in the other, blazer left unbuttoned and the hastily pressed shirt beneath still visibly crinkled.
on an occasion like this, his scriptwriter friend of the same age would be waiting in his car, expectant brow cocked, tight smile and all. and park chanyeol would slip on a smile he likes to hope can charm his way out of trouble, toothy and lopsided as he hurriedly scuttle around the car to slip into the passenger seat.

"did you wait long?"
"have i ever not?"

park chanyeol's weekends, on the other hand, are a drastic contrast to his weekdays.
on most if not all weekends, rarely would you catch sight of park chanyeol's unproportionate self - big guns, flat ass - roaming about duxbury's vicinity. reason as to why comes in plenty forms.
a) he's sleeping in and might only wake up at half past 1 o'clock in the afternoon to relieve his erupting bladder.
b) his sole friend, the screenwriter next door, can't or refuse to spare some time with him. (read: park chanyeol needs to up his socialising skills.)
c) he's simply having those days where shakespeare makes a good read, accompanied by tchaikovsky as background music.

a heads up, chanyeol likes coffee and has a pet puppy. enjoys back scratches, if that's what you're willing to give.
