My mother is from Sicily and my father is from Tuscany so when I say that I am Italian I'm not referring to being 40% Italian and 20% Irish. I consider myself a true Italian, even though I was born in the United States of America. I have a strong connection to my Italian culture; however, from living and growing up in the United States I have a strong American culture as well. Since a very young age I have loved everything that Philadelphia has to offer. I appreciate the culture, sports, food, arts, etc. Now that I go to school in Philadelphia my Philly pride has become even stronger. I am a passionate Eagles fan. Cheesesteaks are my favorite food. My favorite relaxation spot is sitting on the art museum steps and I probably know more about the liberty bell than any other 20 year old. When I was younger I was given the choice to go to a Catholic school; however, I chose not to because while I go to church on Sundays, this is not a huge part of me that I identify with. There was a time period in my life where I was an alter server at my church and helped plan the Saint Cosmos and Damian Feast every year. When my church shut down I tried going to St. Matt's instead. I am colorblind, anemic, dyslexic, and suffer from anxiety and depression. Parts of these disabilities have made me struggle while parts of them have made me stronger.
