I have already learnt a lot about global connection and global education. Thus, I enjoyed listening my colleagues sharing the ideas about thinking of global concquences and making efforts to change the environment they live in at the same Time. The simple actions of gathering rubbish, saving water and Energy stands as great examples of what can we do. I aslo really appreciates the idea of Fair Trade which allows us to be more responsible consumers.

I am global citizen too

Another interesting day is behind us. The theme of today is what it means to be a citizen of the world. I'm a global citizen. Of the two options of being active or being passive I choose to be active. This means that I strive to respect the values of diversity. I'm trying to understand how the world works economically, politically, socially, culturally, technologically and environmentally. I am willing to act to make the world a more sustainable place. I strive to influence my students and encourage them to become active citizenship.

I see globalisation as a process unable to control. A process that developes within its own rythm. It will get deeper and more advanced in all over the World. We cannot stop it. But we can choose if to be active or passive global Citizens. The first option is the one to be choosen by responsible Citizens. The Citizens that are engaged into building better World based on mutual respect.

We are all global citizens. We should remember we are the part of the world and act in a way which does not disturb the environment. To start with we can take small steps in our local environment. I liked the idea of the global village replicated to just one hundred people which gives us a closer look at the real world problems.

I have learned today how important is for us to care about our future, our nature, our World. We have to be responsible and participate our part to live in a better world. We should take seriously the sentence “think globally, act localy”. I desided to make my own “worry tree” to help me accept all the problems and deal with them. I belive that I will live because of that more peacefully and more active.

Finding a balance to become a global citizen is a very delicate matter, but it is definitely enriching.
And what is more, we don’t have a choice: we are all global citizens, and we must to THINK GLOBALLY AND ACT LOCALLY.
