one thing i can takeaway is that we have to be wise with our spendings and that setting aside a portion of our savings is extremely important. my parents have made it a strong point in my household to practice setting aside 10% of our earnings for ourselves as it will be beneficial for us in the long run. it is also crucial to set up a realistic budget and follow it in a disciplined manner, to spend on essential things and try to cut out our wants.

For me, I found budgeting a very valuable lesson as it taught me how to strategically allocate my money for all aspects of my lifestyle (transport, food, entertainment, etc.). Apart from that, I found the lesson about how credit cards and debit cards work very helpful as being a greenhorn credit card user, I am unsure as to how to use a credit card wisely and responsibly. The lesson gave me helpful tips. Finally the lesson on compound interest further helped me to understand the concept better from where I learnt it in Secondary school, as well as how it is applied in daily life.

My main takeaway is that we should always set aside the money we want to save first so that we have a clearer plan to save up. If we only save what is left at the end of the month/plan, our savings would probably be much lower. If we have events or things we are saving for, planning the amount we save each month helps have a clearer plan for us to get closer to this goal.
