3.Cause: The corrigans are in danger
Effect: Jim is assigned as their bodyguard 
4. Cause: A hitman named Mike Vamp tries to break his way in the corrigans hotel
Effect: Jim saves them, but is killed in the act
5. Cause: mike knows where the corrigans are and what they look like 
Effect: They are put in the witness protection program and move to Florida for their new life

She is the protagonist as well as the narrator of the story.
Jim Peterson: Former bodyguard of the Corrigan's, who was killed trying to protect them. He was in his 60's, who was hard on April at first but was beginning to get along with her.
George Corrigan: April's dad, who worked at an airline. He took an offer to become a FBI agent, and go undercover for a case. He is strict on what his family is able and not able to do.

Looking through the peephole, April sees that it is housekeeping. She opens the door nervously, because Jim is not there. While looking at the maid, April realizes something is not right. The maids eyebrow color does not match her hair color and her eyes were really black. April then decides to  close the door at last minute, but the maid stopped her by pushing her body against the door. April then yells for her mom to help her and after about a minute of the three pushing the door back and forth, Jim drops the games and comes to the rescue. April quickly closes the door, then April and her mom listens to the brawl. All of sudden they hear a big boom.
