Laura was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up as the youngest of three girls, surrounded by art, music, and books.  She attended Pratt Institute and graduated with a degree in communications and a contract for her first children’s book, Amy for Short, published in 1975 by Macmillan."

But after he does this, the mouse then asks for a glass of milk. The mouse then requests a straw so he can drink his milk, which turns into a mirror so he can avoid a milk mustache, then he needs nail scissors in order to trim his hair in the mirror. The trend continues until we have made it to the mouse hanging a drawing on the refrigerator. It is here that we circle back to the beginning of the story.
