I am a young man of twenty and I want to make something of my life and not just be a farmer. So I have decieded to cross Van Diemans land.

My equipment

I have a small one person swag I have a fleece filled sleeping bag I got from my friends farm. I have a small hunting knife and a large long bow. I also carry a mottled cloak to help me hunt. I have a larger saxe knife for any trouble I run into. I have brown sealskin boots and a grey green shirt with wooden pants.

Helena and Aurora Ranges

These ranges are wild and vast the only way to go through them is a 4WD car. Sadly the mountain range is being mined into oblivion. It is made up 16 hectares of mountains and plains all covered in spindly brush. There are no camp grounds provided it is all bush camping so you will have to be completely self sustaining. The recommended bring a spare tyre a punter repair kit and an air commpresser.

I could run out of water very easily it is very bare for miles around better make sure to top up at a town before I cross.

By the middle of the trip summer was heating up and I was getting crazy with the heat. At the end of my trip the wet season started. At let it wasn't cold.
