Usually, when I would get hurt I would always sit out or play on my phone. This particular day however I decided to watch. I saw how they played. That day I learned more than I had ever learned while playing on my phone.



Now , I'm not calling myself an expert in basketball or anything because truthfully I still have a lot to learn. What I'm trying to say is that in this situation I was the underdog. I wasn't as tall, as fast, or as strong as them. In that moment my world changed what seemed like forever. 2 or 3 months later we moved into a hotel while they fixed the damages. At first I was really depressed, I truly had no idea what I did to deserve this. Then I realized that it wasn't my fault. It wasn't anyone's fault. That summer I worked on myself. I also connected more with my family.


When my house caught fire I was utterly crushed. In a state of true disbelief. In my mind I had fallen down. I felt like there was no way to get back up. It was as if the only thing I could do was wait. And for a while I did that. Waiting wasn't gonna fix anything, and it for sure wasn't gonna better me in anyway.
