A: First question, what is the etiology of the disease?
E: Well, the disease is caused by immunodeficiency virus, this was the etiology.
V: How serious is the disease and how does it affect the patient´s current lifestyle?
E: When a person gets infected by the HIV virus, this affects severely his lifestyle, he must change his sexual relationships and always use protection. Although this, the person can have a normal way of life.
A: What is the patient´s prognosis?
E: If a correct treatment is followed, he has a very good prognosis. Although this disease has no cure, if the treatment is followed, you can have a normal life, just like a chronic disease.
V: What was the patient´s chief complaint? (Why did he come to see you?)
E: The first time he came was because he began to lose weight, about 10 kilograms approximately, and repeated respiratory infections.
A: What other symptoms does the patient have?
E: Besides weight loss, he had a lot of skin allergies, this was the symptom that most warned the patient. That sometimes some strange hooves…
V: Yes, different
V: How was the patient tested for the disease and what did those tests reveal?
E: When a patient arrives with extreme weight loss, you begin to suspect about the disease, so you ask for a lab test called VDRL and another called ELISA, in the patient both came out positive, so you sent a test that is named Western Blot to confirm that the patient has VIH, and also , he came out positive.
A: What were the patient´s treatment options?
E: After you confirm that the patient has VIH, you have to make another test to know which virus he has, there is a virus 1 and a virus 2, the patient result was that he has the virus 1, so we gave him a specific retroviral for that virus, this retroviral contains 3 antiretroviral in one pill that he takes every day, the effect of the pill makes that the virus stops replicating, when it stops replicating,  the disease remains stable or controlled 
V: What treatment did the patient receive, and how effective was it?
E: Well the treatment is named Atripla, and this one is for a lifetime, the patient has to take a pill every day to maintain the disease controlled.
A: What would happen to the patient if he didn´t receive the treatment?
E: If the patient doesn’t receive treatment in time, different infections enter and sooner or later the patient dies.
V: What new technologies now exist for preventing, diagnosing or treating this disease?
E: Right now, the main technology are the social media because they are constantly informing us how to prevent and to take care of ourselves, and in second place thy are groups supporting all levels but mainly scholar and in some companies and on third place there are specific laboratory tests to tell which virus the patient has and which treatment he must follow.
V: Yes, so we must keep informed always. Well thank you very much doctor
