Police brutality being one of the biggest issues involving racial injustices like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Daunte Wright and the list goes on. There is a clear disproportional pattern of black victims brutally murdered by police. Racism is a violation of human rights because as all of us have learned through this course “No discrimination” is a main basic human right of ours. This happens more now due to all the political disagreements society has now especially during a pandemic like this one. Protesters have been attacked, stolen from, and silenced by people who disagree and can’t stand seeing someone else fight for what they believe in. “Freedom of expression” is another human right all of us learned in this course. Well this goes with my 2 previous reasons. When minorities are discriminated like they have been recently that is actively taking away their “No discrimination” human right. When protesters are silenced that is actively taking away their “Freedom of expression” human right.
