 The trees in the Emergent layer  can grow up to  50-80 meters tall , they are known as emergent trees because they rise through the canopy below and tower the trees.
 The trees  in the Canopy layer grows to heights of 20-30 meters to reach for sunlight , the tree's crowns form an almost continuous cover , the cover is like an umbrella , blocking up to 90 per cent of the sun's rays from reaching the forest floor.
