Apparently the Dept has determined COMPASS will be the new platform used for all student info, attendance, timetables etc… are we heading towards a unified platform in this tech space?

If so, learning programs and future assessment opportunities coming?

Our data RE Connect is only one part of the picture because this is what we can collect… not inclusive of Seqta, Compass, etc

We need to improve the information we are able to access re student learning difficulties, physical challenges etc which affects their progress and achievement. Often it's not until students leave the program we find out this information and so cannot effectively meet their needs

It would been great to have an online group specifically for the regional team across the state, for support and networking.

Online access to IMSS endorsed concerts, masterclasses etc. (that students have access to in the metro area), would also help bridge the gap and create equity.

Opportunity to enter IMSS later on e.g. Yrs 8-10. Changing instruments. This could help in country areas like here in esperance, where we need to fill spots in the bands and ensembles. I'd also say music is a great thing for diverse students in general; giving them the opportunity for safety, expression and also a place to perhaps thrive.

Maybe the vision statement needs to focus on student growth, engagement and coonnection through music rather than excellence. Not all students will be musos, but loving however long they're with us should hopefully assist engagement with the program when they're parents.

Could we eventually be working in district/regional areas for planning and PM as being a regional teacher is very different to metro? Instead of instrument specific SLT's, could we have Northwest or Southwest or NOR areas. Would also encourage cross instrument collaboration?

As we continue on this "alignment journey", it would be appreciated if the differences between instrument sections can be not only acknowledged, but allowed...

As the blanket of conformity possibly gets tighter as we align other aspects, there is a concern this will restrict learning opportunities which are unique to our different instrument sections. There are many ways to do things and we hope these will be heard and considered, genuinely, rather than a prefabricated model which will ultimately be implemented, regardless of input from others.
