    My name is Williemena Orria and you can call me either Willie or Mena. Here, I want to tell you a little bit about myself. 

    I am from an ordinary family where I am the youngest child out of five siblings. My father is a retired soldier and now currently works as a school van's driver meanwhile my mother is a housewife. I also got the title of aunt since 2011 because I has a nephew which is my oldest sister's son.

    In October 2020, I have started my new journey as a student in University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Bachelors of Economics with Honours (Service Economics) programme under the Faculty of Economics and Business. Before starting my new chapter as an University's student, I have completed my studies until Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with CGPA 2.92 at SMK Muara Tuang, Samarahan, Sarawak. 

    This new chapter in my life is very challenging because of today's current covid19 situation where we cannot meet or have any physical contact with other people. This situation gives difficulties to do group assignment because I cannot meet my group members and we have to do discussion through whatsapp which is hard and quite inconvenience for us. Even though it is hard, we managed to finish our work on time because of our determination and good teamwork between us. 

    Telling you guys a little bit about myself, my hometown is in Serian, Sarawak. I would visit my hometown at least twice in a year especially during festive seasons. I like festive season the most in my life because it is the only time or season where I could meet and gather around with my family members. This year is an exemption because of the coronavirus disease. I hope I could meet my family members and friends soon after all this pandemic situation over.

    This academic writing skills is part of our assignments. At first, I thought that it would be easy since I just need to edit the file by following the given instructions. Before editing, I have to copy and paste the whole appendix 1 in a new microsoft word file. After pasting the contents of appendix 1, I found that the contents were disorganize and I had to edit the whole things.

    I started editing and inserting things with patience and I even referred to the recorded class when I faced difficulties in understanding the instructions given. After referring to the recorded class, I could recalled back the things that I had learned and applied it during the editing process. After finished editing, I checked whether the editing results were the same as the appendix 2 that was given as our guide.

    After checking the final result of the academic writing skills assignment, I found that the final result is identical as in appendix 2.     For me, my Academic Advisor is Dr. Mohd Khairul Hisyam bin Hassan. We had our first Academic Advisor meeting in group along with his other mentees on 4th of November 2020. For the first meeting, I felt nervous but it was quite nice because we got to know about him better. He told us a little bit about his background. He told us that he is from Terengganu and basically a son of a fisherman. He has been worked in UNIMAS for almost 11 years. He said that he got all his Bachelors Degree and Masters in Economics at University Putra Malaysia (UPM). Then, he also got his Doctor of Philosophy in Development Economics at the same University.

    In that meeting, we asked questions regarding things that we need to know or somethings that we cannot solve especially about group assignments. It is because most of us having difficulties doing group assignments due to current situation that we face right now. Some even asked questions about his personal interest or hobbies. He answered all of our questions realistically and based on his own opinions. 

    Based on the meeting, I have learned about a lot of things especially on how to manage my time and guides to achieve my career path. Besides, I got extra informations based on other mentees's questions such as ways to build self confidence, ways to deal with 'free rider' in our group, ways to deal with online class and more.

Based on my first time experience using it, I thought it would be easy to find the resources that I want but actually it was quite confusing and difficult to find references through it. 

    Then, I watched the tutorial video for using PeTARY on Youtube. After that, I tried using the PeTARY website again and I managed to find the references that I want even though it took a long time. Based on my observation and experience using the PeTARY, it still hard for me to find references that I need because I found that some resources or references that I need are not available in the PeTARY website. 

    I hope that PeTARY could make the "Library OneSearch" system available to find every resources because it just focuses on printed materials and Institutional Repository. Furthermore, I hope the electronic resources could be more specific in providing resources other than just providing the general website for the e-books, e-journals, online databases and more. It is because it takes longer times to find materials that we need since we have to open and check the the general website one by one.
