A great film about filmmaking, filled with funny and tragic moments. It's interesting to see how personal concerns(from the actors and the film crew) impact the shooting of the movie. Impossible not to sympathize with the director (played by F. Truffaut himself) as he tries to complete his film without hurting the feelings of anyone involved.
A picture containinig the most irritating character (on the left) and the nicest (right)

Acclaimed as one of the best horror movie in over a decade, but to me a disappointment. The idea is original, but the film fails to build a strong scary atmosphere (the direcror stated that the film was supposed to look like a nightmare). Some scenes are grotesque and eventually it seems quite empty (like most horror movies in fact)

Remake of the Clouzot's uncomplete movie of the same name. The film is about a happily married couple, but suddenly the husband begins to suspect his wife of being unfaithful. His suspisions lead him to insanity and turn the marriage into a living "hell". Great film about obsession. The ending (especially the last footage) is brilliant.

An Italian man meets a young Russian woman and falls in love with her, but suddenly she has to leave... The man gets obsessed with her and after several weeks decide to go find her in Russia. This film is about a summer love which does not fade. A classical story, but for some reason this film is really great. Why ?
Is it its superb photography ?
Or the deep feeling of melancholy that arises from it ?

Finally got the chance to see the 2017 OSCAR Best Picture. I rather appreciated the movie, it has a powerful story, with interesting and appealing characters and contains some funny moments. However I can't help thinking that, like Moonlight in 2015, this film was designed for the Oscar. The impossible love story, the opressed minorities, the evil sexist and racist character... I'm not sure that this film needed all of this stereotypes to be successful and in my opinion it prevents it from being a great movie

This film received 4 Oscars, including Best Picture, against acclaimed movies like The Elephant Man or Raging Bull, but is shamefully almost unknown in France. The movie is indeed about ordinary people, but is very special in its own way, because everything in there feels real, all the emotions, reactions, situations. I think that i had never seen a movie which was that relevant and that t so many true things. The three main characters are deep, complex, very well protrayed and the script allows the viewer to fore their minds in a meaningful way. .

A British thriller about paganism. As I've always been interested by pagan culture, I found this movie very enjoyable. The plot is original and refreshing and it's always great to hear the scottish accent. I saw the final twist coming, but was impressed by the last scene, intense and haunting, when we finally get the chance to see The Wicker Man.

The presence of this film in the AFI's Courtroom Drama Top 10 (Ranked #7) is entirely justified, as its intrigue is very well led and the long trial scene is really impressive, thanks to James Steward's performance and a powerful script. I found the very last scene amazingly enjoyable. We're also offered through this film the opportunity to see the evolution of the mores, for instance the court is in the movie offended by the use of the word "panties". Anatomy of a Murder was banned in several States at its release.

A troubling and powerful film set in an unusual universe (beef trading in Belgium). But what is really stricking here is the fate of the main character. It's hard no to sympathise with this brutal and violent man who was doomed from the start. The film is quite dark and raw but there are some funny moments, some scenes make for instance fun of the conflict between Walloons and Flemings.

Not quite among the best, but still a very entertaining movie with a lot of characters and funny, absurd situations and which has its own atmosphere, like in fact every movie from the Coen brothers.I was surprised by its very fast pacing, which is very different from for instance Barton Fink, which was released only one year later.

This movie is very odd : watching it is an exeperience and I have the impression that you either love it or hate it. We alternate between scenes filled with cold and raw violence and very pure scenes, which creates a unique, peculiar atmosphere. I was impressed by Kitano's performance, as the main character, a troubled man who is tired of his life as a yakuza. This is a powerful depiction of the mob world and the monsters it creates.
