When I was 7, we moved to Colorado, away from all our family and friends.

I eventually got irritated with relearning gymnastics and decided to give lacrosse a try in 4th grade. Best decision of my life.

Through lacrosse, I met some of my absolute best friends. I'm still friends with a lot to this day.

In 7th grade, I moved to a new area about 10 minutes away, and got really close with my new neighbors.

I started high school, but immediately hated it. A lot went very south quickly, and I wanted out fast.

I switched to Denver Christian about a month into high school. My neighbors went there, so I knew I would already have friends.

High School was a roller coaster. It had a lot of very high highs, and a lot of extremely low lows. By the end of it, I wanted nothing more than to be out.

I was being recruited for lacrosse, which is what originally brought my attention to HPU.

While touring the school for lacrosse, the rowing coach saw my small size and decided to talk to me about potentially switching. My mom rowed in college, and I had always wanted to, so it worked out perfectly.

After some discussion, I committed to HPU for rowing and practiced so much for a year and a half.

The summer after my senior year, I decided to work at Lifetime Fitness. Who knew this job would bring me my best friends in all of high school?

My friends and I went line dancing, camping, and spent everyday together. They made leaving hard, but they also helped me realize that I just have to find the right people to spend time around.

Even though I switched schools, I still played for my first high school, along with competitive travel club. It was my entire life.
