The speaker of the poem is the Duke who talks about his recent marriage. He shows the visitor that he is talking to through his palace, he stops at a portrait of the late Duchess, who was a young and lovely girl.He remembers her.He claims she flirted with everyone and did not appreciate his “gift of a nine-hundred-years- old name.” </div>]]></description>
