         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. They settled in deep forest by lakes rivers and streams so they could have easy access to rivers and lakes.<br><br>2. They all shared a common bound, the respect for nature and honored whatever they took.<br><br>3. One type of home they  built was called a wigwam or some people lived in a longhouse.<br><br>4. To protect their homes many villages built long wood walls around the village called palisades.<br><br>5. Men would chip away flint for arrow heads.<br><br>6. At an early age girls would learn to make baskets or fishing nets.<br><br>7. They didn't go to school they learned and watched their elders.<br><br>8. They believed that everything had a spirit and held ceremonies to honor these spirits.<br><br>9. Many native american people welcomed the new settlers did not understand the concepts of the new settlers.<br><br>10.  Once the new settlers came and they lost the lands where they had settled and were forced to live on reservations</div>]]></description>
