Who: 
16-year-old Johnny Cade and 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis risk their lives saving 5 children from a scorching hot church fire just outside of Windrixville, Oklahoma. Two of the three young heroes are currently in the hospital, one in critical condition.  

What:
A kindergarten class along with their teachers were having a picnic on top of a hill when an unexpected fire caught an abandoned church. 5 children of the kindergarten class had run off and were inside the church when the church caught fire. The adults were unaware at the time that the children were inside the church. As soon as they realized they were unsure of what to do. However when the 2 boys heard the news they ran in without thinking about themselves and risking their lives for the safety of the children.

Where:
This tragic incident happened atop Jay Mountain in Windrixville, Oklahoma in an abandoned run-down church. The police later found cigars which were later confirmed as the cause of the fire.

When:
It was a beautiful sunny day outside when the incident occurred. The fire began somewhere around midday and continued for a couple of hours.

Why:
During the interview with Curtis and Cade, they told us that they went to check out the church and during that time left cigars in the church and felt as though maybe that was the cause of the fire. However, no information was given about why they were checking out the church or why they smoke at such a young age.

How:
When the two boys heard the news they ran into the church without hesitation. Once they got into the church they ran and tried to save the kids as fast as possible. They lifted the kids out of the church one by one, staying inside even though the church was about to collapse.
