In Ape Genius, an experiment was shown to explain impulse control, and how children use their brains differently. This was shown by placing two bowls of gummy bears on the table. One bowl was filled with lots of gummy bears, and the other bowl just had one. Then the adult took the big bowl and said if the child waited until she came back they could have the big bowl; but if they didn't they could have the one gummy bear and that's it. All of the children ate the 1 gummy bear, and none had the huge bowl. This shows how bad they wanted a gummy bear and couldn't wait for the adult to get back.

The scientists discovered that at the age of 4, humans begin to understand what other humans are thinking, and this can also be true with Apes, as they understand what humans need help with and do it. They will help the humans if they understand what the humans goal is; such as dropping something, and helping picking it back up.

The differences between bonobos and other apes, along with humans vary. First off, the bonobos in a clip showed how they took extreme risks to help protect a dead chimps body whom they didn't even know. This shows that they are very caring, unlike other apes who can be very aggressive. This has to do with the back of their brain, and how they develop into loving, caring, apes, instead of very violent ones.

In the end, scientists discovered that apes are self taught, and that they don't really teach each other how to do things; unlike humans who need to be taught by a teacher in order to do something correctly.
