Last Sunday morning, I took part in a garbage - picking volunteer activity in my community park. Organized by the local community center, it attracted many residents, including students, retirees, and young parents.

We gathered at the park entrance, where the community staff distributed garbage bags and gloves. Then, we split into groups and got to work. As we walked along the paths and around the flower beds, we found all sorts of trash: plastic bottles, food wrappers, and cigarette butts. Picking up the litter, we filled the bags quickly.

This experience was eye - opening. It made me aware of how much litter accumulates in our surroundings and how easy it is to make a difference. By simply picking up trash, we can significantly improve the appearance of our community. It also strengthened the sense of community, as we worked together towards a common goal. I'm eager to join more such activities to keep our community clean.

Last summer vacation, I volunteered at a local nursing home. It was a really special time for me.

When I got there, I started by helping the elderly with their daily activities. In the morning, I walked with those who had trouble moving. It was slow, but they were happy to be outside.

After that, I sat and talked with them. One old lady, Mrs. Brown, showed me photos of her family. She told me stories about her children. I could see how much she loved them.

In the afternoons, we had fun doing art. We colored pictures together. Some of the elderly people made the most creative pictures. Their smiles made me feel warm inside.

By the end of the summer, I became good friends with many of them. This experience taught me to be patient and kind. I also learned that small things can bring big happiness to others. I can't wait to volunteer again!

During the winter vacation, I served（服务）as a volunteer at the Community Worstation. I was asked to help people who came to the station to do business. We went to an old people's home. As soon as we arrived, we got busy with various tasks. Some of us cleaned the rooms, wiping the dust off the furniture and mopping the floors carefully. Others engaged in conversations with the elderly, listening attentively to their life stories. I was in charge of organizing an entertainment session. I played some classic songs on my phone, and we all sang along. The once quiet hall was soon filled with laughter and music.
