I chose to take this course of laura because the world of medicine has always been a great passion of mine.
I remember when I was a little girl I used to dress up as a nurse and I tried to take care of all my dolls.
The thing that further convinced me was to find myself for more than once in unpleasant situations, in which unfortunately people to whom I was affectively attached and did not feel bad..the feeling of helplessness that I felt at that moment was indescribable and I promised myself that if I’m going to be faced with a situation like these, I want to be able to intervene.

I think the things that make a nurse a good professional are the theoretical and practical skills, the professionalism and all the humanities skills.
A nurse is required not only to take care of the physical but also psychological medical aspect. 
It is necessary, for example, to listen to the patient and their relatives with empathy, to fully understand their situation, to integrate it with nursing skills for the success of the treatment plan.

Mr. Melvin went to the emergency room on November 3rd for a swollen limb, he was then transferred to the ortho ward.
To treat the venous thrombosis that affected Mr newbold, a drug called Fragmin was enough.
Only on November 6 was transferred to the department of cardiosurgery, he had to undergo surgery to remove the right leg, operation carried out only on November 10
After two days, he had a heart attack.
He suffered further brain damage and died on November 16.
Surgeons know that if he had been hospitalized immediately in the right department and if he had taken the fragmin, the risks of venous thrombosis would certainly have decreased .

Again this term, I enjoyed reading your Padlet, Martina.   I especially appreciated your task about what makes a good nurse and how you included the psychological part. Listening and showing empathy are so vital to patients.  Having those social skills, for sure you will be a good nurse!
