In 1981 the sanctions were lifted. In 1983 the US imposed an arms embargo on Iran in response to their support of terrorism. In 1995 the US imposed sanctions in response to the Iranian nuclear program and Iran's support for groups that would be considered terrorist organizations. The sanction had a lot of effects which were very unfortunate and corrupt which led to protest being held. The effects included, people being placed in unhealthy situations, 6.9 million civilians being in misplaced living situations, caused 22 million civilians to flee their homes and lives in Syria, and more which caused civilians to be more vigilant instead of being in their home comfortably from their perspective.

Around 1959, Fidel Castro was in control of Cuba. His decisions caused political arguments between U.S and Cuba. There was already an embargo on Cuba from President Dwight, which covered almost all exports to Cuba, except for medicine and certain foods from the U.S. In 1962, President Kennedy expanded that embargo and made the restriction permanent. Because of this embargo, Cuba became one of the poorest nations and the embargo restricted Cuba from having free enterprise, private property, etc.
