This video is a critique of three OER that I curated from the vast array of OER available online. Each OER I critiqued was from the realm of writing instruction in English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL): a textbook, a graphic organizer, and a rubric. I chose to do this presentation as a recorded Microsoft Teams meeting so that the OER could be displayed and explored while I was critiquing it. There does not seem to be much discussion of OER in the field of ESL, so this video could serve to fill a small part of that gap. This resource might be useful to others in the future as a teacher professional development tool, especially if the professional development is intended to raise awareness of OER among ESL teachers.

This document contains two discussion board posts I published throughout the semester. I chose these two posts because they both expound upon a similar theme: OER in marginalized communities. OER, and especially Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs), have been hailed as a democratizing force in higher education by proponents. These discussion board posts take a critical view of this stance, deepening the conversation around the effect, if any, OER has in marginalized communities.

I decided to curate these two posts into one document and post them on Scribd. These words will now be available to anyone who wants to delve deeper into the discussion about this topic. My words could serve as a jumping off point or inspiration for another person to build upon my work in the future.

I developed this slide deck for a project aimed at helping teachers, trainers, and others how to craft good AI prompts to generate lesson plans and other educational material. Since this slide deck is part of a larger Florida State University (FSU) project, I used an FSU slide deck template and created images with ChatGPT that were congruent with the aviation theme the rest of my group was using. The slide deck posted here is accessed through SlideShare, boosting the overall visibility of this document. Since this slide deck will be included in a larger FSU site, it is easy to imagine that it will be used, adapted, and remixed by users of that site.

This is a ln infographic I created as part of the same group project in which I created the slide deck. This infographic was created using Perplexity.ai and shows the differences between a bad and a good AI prompt. Like the slide deck, this infographic will be used as part of a larger FSU site, so it is easy for me to imagine a user of the site, perhaps an FSU alum who is now a teacher or trainer, reusing or adapting this infographic to fit their own specific needs.

This research brief explores recent scholarship on equity in OER and MOOCs. This topic became increasingly important to me over the course of the semester, and I used this research brief as a means of delving deeper into the subject. I wanted to know if MOOCs really are the democratizing force they were hailed to be. If I wonder about this, then others must as well. Therefore, I decided to post the brief on Scribd so that others curious about this topic can find it. I imagine that Scribd users who access the brief could use the references section to further their own review of the topic.
