This shoutout is for Laura, who taught Help! These Kids Can't Write!, this morning. :)

Laura, the information you presented on appositives and writing was beneficial--even for a language arts teacher. Oftentimes I get bogged down and overwhelmed with how to go about teach good writing, but your session assured me that it's okay for good writing to start small (and not feel pressured to teach a lot at once); it also reminded me that I need to push myself to be more explicit in writing instruction.

Independent work went quicker, but had more mistakes. Partner work slowed the process, but allowed us to correct errors in real time. They pushed us to think of new ways that we can integrate these grouping strategies into our classroom.
