Do I Agree With Ratliff's Idea of Transmission

I would say yes that I do agree. The reason for that is because he relates tone and emotion to transmission in the way that tone alone does not correctly portray the story the artist is trying to get across. Emotion is the real key to transmission as you may hear some vibrato in an artists voice or some other indicator of emotion that may lead audience to perceive emotion, however the only way to know the emotion the artist is trying to get across is by looking deeper into the lyrics.

Why I Chose Mansion

Mansion by NF I believe does an amazing job of transmission as it tells a fantastic story/metaphor of how many of us including the artist are living. In the song he goes through the different rooms describing them as if they were certain parts of the heart and mind. He shows the audience what is open to the public in regards to the events that have happened in his life and also the tragedies that he has been through. It is such a relatable song because it reminds us that we all struggle and we all have pain and heartbreak, but God is with us through it all.
