Faced with periling situations, Winston must make some of the most difficult choices of his life. Living in a distopian society, your words and actions have never been more closely monitored. As the true controller of his mind and fate; crime, regret and betrayal await him every turn. And his only motivation is this, freedom shouldn't be a luxury, it should be a right.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Just they way he expressed the emotions and feelings of the characters was unique and his descriptions of this distopian world made me feel as if I were apart of it. I was disappointed at the way he ended the book, I wish there was a sequel to maybe show how Winston breaks free from the brainwash and finally is able to gain his freedom and rebel against the Party.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a dark distopian twist, but is okay with it not having a "fairy tale ending".
The lesson I personally take away from reading this book is never lose your own unique individuality and finding your true self (mostly shown through Winston). It is something only you have, and you have the power over yourself and how you propel forward facing challenges and suffering in life.
