The statement is about showing black power and presence in spaces that once left black people out. They put themselves into a museum known for white European art, this was them showing black artist now shape culture and history too. This matters because it proves they are reclaiming history and making sure black voices and stories are seen as powerful.

This part catches my attention because it shows women dancing in front of a really big painting, showing how many of them (9) can fit in front of it.

They are wearing nude colored outfits & are doing a planned dance, which is different from the old fashioned scene in the painting.

To me, this contrast is interesting because it mixes old and new art forms & I find that to be fascinating.

I think the statement that the Carters were making was showing how far they have come. My image that I chose shows how in the ancient pantings the black people were in the background; in the song they talk about how they made it and now they have power. It’s significant because back then black people were slaves, caters, and more, now the Carters are showing that they are much more than that and came on top.

I believe the meaning or representation of this clip is royalty or power. Beyoncé is constantly referred as “The Queen” or “Queen bee, in this clip it shows shes the most important one with her clothing and accessories . This is significant because it shows she’s the one on top as a black woman.

This part of the music video caught my attention due to the statement that the Carters are trying to symbolize Is significance of Black people in history .The way they are wearing skin colored clothes help connect them to the idea of being part of history and art and in a way reclaiming it. This is important because most European art show's mostly only white as power and elegant but don't show black people in the same way.

This is showing an African American on top of an horse where U.S colors with the red white and blue, this is what I think is showing what the african american people have accomplished and what they had to ride through. The man is on a horse which I interpreted as riding a horse and he's american because of the striped pants and shirt also because of his color and his expression. This is important because it what I think depicts the struggles of the african americans race.

I chose this part of the video due to the fact that it has a part in African American slavery and how the times have changed.In the video they try remaking the paintings in their own way implementing how they are now able to have more freedom. In the painting it shows how he is tied up with a rope and in the video he recreates that image by dancing and them being able to do that shows how much history has changed towards African Americans.

The statement the Carters are trying to make is that they are successful, important and educated. They rented out the Louvre and stood in front of the Mona Lisa, they are two of the most wealthy and famous African American people in the country, they want to make their importance known. Being able to rent the Louvre and bring some of the richest people shows how important they are, and would be close to Mona Lisa level of fame.

This image caught my attention because not only does the red background make it more engaging but also can symbolize achievement, and not also that but the phrase “I can’t believe we made it” it’s a feeling of joy and accomplishment while standing in front of a pharaoh statue which these statues served as symbols of divine power and them standing in front of one of them can explain why they decided to say that phrase at that moment. I believe that this is important because throughout this class we have learned that white people have been taught they are superior towards people of color so them being able accomplish their dreams and more, shows how society has been evolving through the years.

In this part you can see a woman combing a man's hair, but from the first time I saw it I asked myself the question... why comb your hair in front of a painting that has been around for years and is very well known in the world? Why not do it somewhere else or be doing another action, but why comb your hair in front of her?

My only answer to this would be that they know it is a famous painting and take advantage of how iconic the painting is.

This clip shows the importance of black power, and how they used to be shut out at one time. They filmed the video in this museum and specifically chose this painting to prove how times have changed since black artists can now be a part of history. This is significant because it demonstrates how now everybody’s voice can be heard and viewed as important.

I chose this image because in the frame it shows a colored/black woman and in it she is do a black man's hair, I think. This signifies black culture. Braids are a sign of culture like everyone haves a culture and in that culture, people have one thing that have come from that culture so that's how this backups of what I have said. 100 percent of the time if you ask someone what racist they think braids came from most of the time they would say African American.

In the artwork, Beyonce’s high bun represents a crown, turning black hair into a symbol of power and challenging European beauty standards that have throughout time criticized and policed it. This is significant because the Carters are asserting black pride, power, and identity by boldly placing black fashion, culture, and bodies into spaces historically dominated by white elites.

This part of the music video stuck out to me due to the statement she is trying to convey all the Black women stand unified in front of an important piece of colonial history basically saying that Black people are apart and should be represented in important history. The Burberry Beyoncé wore in this part is trying to show wealth and success that black peoples have and worn on her own terms. By doing this they are reclaiming space and showing that black peoples are now capable of being the ones viewed as successful.
