Developing and Using an MTSS Problem-Solving Team [2 CPE credits]
This course provides leaders with action steps for forming a problem-solving team, planning and holding effective team meetings, and creating consistent expectations campus-wide when using a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). This course is designed for leaders, including campus and district administrators as well as Education Service Center (ESC) staff supporting school leaders; however, all learners are welcome.

Supports for Special Education Referrals [2 CPE credits]

Welcome to the Supports for Special Education Referrals course. Within this course, we will review how data collected through the intervention process should be used by problem-solving teams to inform decisions regarding referrals for special education.
This course is designed for teachers, staff, and administrators of PK-12 schools, as well as ESC staff; however, all learners are welcome.

From the TIER Leadership module, participants in this course learn about key elements of ongoing professional development (PD) to support the implementation of MTSS. Throughout the course, leaders have opportunities to reflect on and outline their own organization’s PD in each of four key areas.

 

From the TIER Leadership module, participants in this course learn how MTSS provides a comprehensive framework to house additional instructional platforms including tutoring and special education services. In addition, key strategies for fostering open communication with parents and caregivers are addressed.

 

Roles and Responsibilities Within a Problem-Solving Team [3 CPE credits]

This course provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities within a problem-solving team when using a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. Participants will learn how to: (a) determine who should participate on MTSS problem-solving teams, (b) define the roles of problem-solving team members, (c) plan effective meetings, (d) implement effective problem-solving team practices, and (e) define the problem-solving team’s role in creating consistent expectations.

 

Data-Based Individualization Within MTSS [2 CPE credits]

This TIER course provides an overview of data-based individualization, or DBI, focusing on DBI in academics. Participants will learn how to: (a) define DBI, (b) identify key features of DBI, (c) explain the purpose and benefits of implementing DBI, and (d) explain the process of DBI and when to implement instructional change.

 

This course provides real-world examples of problem-solving teams implementing MTSS in Texas. This course is designed for teachers, staff, and administrators of PK-12 schools, as well as ESC staff; however, all learners are welcome.

Student-Centered Approaches [2 CPE credits]
This TIER course provides an overview of student-centered approaches supported by research, including explicit instruction, universal design for learning (UDL), and the interconnected systems framework (ISF). Further, the course explores how these practices fit within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). This course is designed for teachers, staff, and administrators of PK-12 schools, as well as ESC staff; however, all learners are welcome. 

Your MTSS Plan [2 CPE credits]
This TIER course is designed to assist district and/or school leadership in building a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. It presents considerations for planning effective MTSS programs and processes and provides sample MTSS plans. Additionally, the course explores considerations for evaluating MTSS plans. This course is designed for school and district leaders, including administrators and problem-solving teams of PK-12 schools; however, all learners are welcome.
