However, both sides contains Indians that would raid each others settlements. It was known that both the French and English wanted the Ohio Valley. The French wanted this land for hunting and trading while the English wanted it for more farmland. This led up to the year of 1754, the beginning of the French and Indian War, which soon ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris. Great Britain grew with the increase of territory from the North Americas. However, a downfall despite the frontier policy and the war expenses, it all led to a colonial disconnection and mainly, the American Revolution. After the achievement, King George the Third issued a proclamation in which it forbade all settlement west of a line that was drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. This was due to the Pontiac's Rebellion. It was then titled The Royal Proclamation of 1763. Ideas from Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston were all brought together for the paper. This document is so important because it had the ideas of what the nation should become. He was the nations first quadrennial president. His reign went from April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. This was an important event because it was the start of something new, the quadrennial presidents that still happen till this day.
