These are my original art. I work mainly through allusion. In the painting on the far left, black occupies the largest proportion, suggesting the subordinate groups that make up the majority of the population in society. The white color, despite its small percentage, is effectively the visual center of the picture, as it dominates the layout of the picture by its regular distribution. It represents the dominant group, which is a minority of the population but dominates the social order. In the middle one, black and white occupy the picture in close proportions, suggesting the proximity of power between dominant and subordinate groups in society. They are still distributed according to a certain pattern, but the picture begins to look visually chaotic. Implying the proximity of the forces of the two groups, despite a certain order, chaos has begun to appear. In the one on the far right, the order appears more chaotic, with almost no fixed pattern. By doing so, I hope to suggest the occurrence of conflicts between the two groups of dominant and subordinate. With these three diagrams I hope to suggest the hidden inherent contradictions and risks between dominant and subordinate groups.

The experience I want to talk about happened during my high school graduation season in 2018, my last year in high school, and it was a period of my observation of the phenomenon. At that time, all art exams were over, and all seniors were intensely preparing for the upcoming college entrance exams. Some students achieve outstanding results on art exams and obtain the opportunity to compete for admission to the best art universities in the country or other major universities that are ranked reasonably high nationally. Our school is an arts high school, and all students are art students. In addition to taking the regular entrance exams, we also participate in other art exams given by various universities. We can only qualify to compete for admission to these universities by passing these art exams. Ultimately, a regular final exam will determine if our scores are sufficient for eventual acceptance to the school. Therefore, the school gives a lot of special treatment to this group of students who have achieved good grades. They have independent study space, and the school has dedicated the best teachers to teach and tutor them, providing the best and more quantity of revision materials, etc. At the same time, this group of students has the right to make reasonable requests to the school, and the school will not refuse them as long as they are beneficial to their studies. However, other students who did not excel in the art exams do not have these rights. But fortunately, because the university entrance exams were approaching, everyone's attention was on this exam, and it did not inspire a heated conflict.

From the perspective of students who have special treatment, this is indeed unmistakable for them. They beat out tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of the same art students across the country in art exams to gain the final competitive status to attend. They beat tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of the same art students across the country to obtain the final competition for admission, which is a testament to their effort and abilities. If these students breakthrough in the final competition and enroll in the best schools, they become the signature and representative of the school. Student success is a testament to the school's ability to teach well and to the excellent leadership of its administration and leaders. The school will be able to obtain more support and resources from the government more efficiently, and it will be able to ensure the training of the next class of students and maintain the quality of the school's teaching. Because the next university entrance exam is crucial for them, it determines whether they can go to a good university and directly affect their future life development. One less study resource means one less guarantee that they will succeed on the exam.

The paradox lies in allocating learning resources, as the share of learning resources is limited. Students who achieve good grades and the school's administration are somehow equivalent to the dominant group, even though they may not realize it. Students who achieved good grades took advantage of the excellent results, and the school's executives used the power to set up rules to take a larger share of teaching resources and secure their interests. This behavior is practically some kind of privilege, even though they don't realize it. On the other hand, the average students are the equivalent of a subordinate group in a school, and they have to follow the rules set by the school. They do not have access to more learning resources, and they are at greater risk. In a way, their benefits are compromised. But fortunately, they all have the same goal - university entrance exams. Their point of conflict is shifted, so the conflict is not stirred up. Because stirring up conflicts at this point would be detrimental to everyone's interests.

Word Account: 652
