The author's point in this article is that educators and schools need to not only use technology, but use it in the way that students need. We need to listen to students and adapt to the technology that they use and will use in order to provide them the most effective education.

2. Communicate, collaborate, contextualize (although opening paragraph lists three nouns: tablets, smartphones, apps).

3. - They want to be social (basically create and leverage their own version of a PLN).
- They want to be untethered (don't want to be "trapped" by location/time/teacher). This one really resonates with me!
- They want a digitally rich learning experience (resources/content that provide context and more productive learning)

4. Technology in the classroom is no longer about the what, it's about the how. There's no longer a question about whether devices will be in the classroom or which ones (the "traditional" paradigm), it's about how students are using and want to use technology as both a gateway to learning and as a means to enhance/enrich both the process and the results. As teachers, we need to embrace this new paradigm and effectively leverage tech to meet our students' needs.

2. The three verbs mentioned are communicate, collaborate, and contextualize.

3. The three things students want in technology are social, untethered, and digitally rich. Students want their technology to be social because they enjoy interacting and collaborating to learn and connect from classmates and teachers. Students also want untethered technology because they do not want to be limited on what they can discover. Students enjoy diving as deep as they want into a topic. Technology should also be digitally rich because students want to use tools that will enhance their learning.

4. The author's point is to emphasize the importance of the students and their needs. Technology can be used as a tool to help personalize and differentiate the instruction. Additionally, technology can help the instruction be more productive and student- centered.

1 the three verbs mentioned are Communicate, Collaborate and contextualize.

2Social- being able to collaborate and learn from others to create a much more personalized education for themselves.
Untethered- not being tethered to a traditional classroom, and being able to go beyond the traditional classroom experience.
Digitally rich- using digital tools that are relevant to the lesson to be productive.

3 The point the author was trying to make is that we do need technology in schools. more importantly we need the technology in schools to fit the needs of students. Each student is different in what they need out of school and technology is a great way to help differentiate to give each student the most effective education.

1) The three verbs Evans mentions in the opening paragraph are communicate, collaborate, and contextualize.
2) Social: Students desire technology as a tool used for collaboration and communication to network with peers, teachers, and other experts.
Untethered: Students want to use technology as a learning experience that transcends the classroom and is not limited by a teacher or physical location of a resource.
Digitally rich: For students, technology is useful because it adds relevancy and productivity to their learning, not just because it is engaging or "fun."
3) Evans argues that allowing students' to bring personal technology to the classroom not only enhances students' learning, but is necessary in the 21st century. Students' desire to use technology to transcend the four walls of the classroom, connect with experts and relevant information found online, and to discover relevant information and efficient learning. Teachers and administrators need to focus on how personal technology in the classroom can do to promote student learning instead of what specific devices, programs, and restrictions to technology.

Instead of worrying about what tech to use and when/where, let students use the technology that the know in a more self-directed learning approach, seeking out digital learning that is personalized and relevant to them.

The author of this article wanted to convey that while technology in any capacity has many educational benefits such as lesson differentiation or meeting the needs of a digitally rich society, the ways in which schools have been implementing technology are crippling the advantages. Students need more personalization and less institutionalization, consider it a Montessori approach to these cyber resources.

"More Verbs, Less Nouns" focuses on actions and not just objects. Instead of defining mobile or digital access to the type of device, it should define what can be achieved with the device. For example, learning outside of the typical or normal setting whether it's the classroom or office. The author indicates a student would be more comfortable using his or her own device instead of using a device provided by the school; eliminating the frustration of learning to use a new device.

- Communicate, collaborate, contextualize
- Three things students want:

1) Social – personalized networks of peers, teachers, etc.

2) Untethered – learning that, through technology, can extend beyond the traditional classroom with teacher

3) Digitally rich experience – students want to use digital tools, content and resources to enhance their learning

As per the title of the article “More Verbs, Less Nouns,” the author encourages educators, parents to look beyond the devices themselves – which the author asserts that many students already do – and focus on what can be done with this technology. Technology allows learning to extend beyond the classroom and provides a more dynamic learning experience to which students are drawn. The author asserts that students need to be provided the technological and digital resources and freedom to pursue these learning opportunities. The author believes that the educational environment should enable different types of devices – laptops, smartphones, tablets, digital readers – understanding that not all tasks or activities can be effectively and efficiently completed with one device alone. In order to take advantage of the personalization that today’s technology allows – social networks, favorite websites and resources, etc. – the author is a proponent of allowing students to bring in their own devices to use at school.
