Crowdfunding is the funding of a project by raising money through online services. People are able to donate/gift this funding on the internet. With Citizen Science individuals all over the world can contribute to the findings of data and scientific studies. They help make discoveries and conduct experiments for the benefit of research.

Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically by using the internet. An example of this would be gofundme because a person can make a fundraiser online to get funds from all sorts of people.

Crowdsourcing is the practice of obtaining information or input into a task or project by enlisting the services of a large number of people. This can be either paid or nonpaid and an example of it would be game FoldIt which computer game allows players without any prior biochemistry knowledge to compete and solve puzzles by folding protiens.

Citizen science is when the public voluntarily helps conduct scientific research. This can be done by designing experiments, collecting data, analyzing results, and solving problems. An example of this would be the Butterfly Census or Bird Census.

These concepts are similar in the sense that they all use people through the internet for a cause but they are for different causes. Cites like GoFundMe help families raise money through donations from the public for causes and sometimes important projects.
Crowdsourcing is a form of collecting data or information for a project from the public via the Internet. This can be feedback to improve a product or data collected for research or experiments. NASA is developing and launching a platform that will allow citizens to report and collect data on UAVs.
Citizen Science is similar to crowdsourcing. Essentially, citizen science allows the public to participate in scientific research. It allows for anyone to become a scientist and conduct their own experiments to collect data, analyze it, and share it with professionals and others in the community. Citizen science allows for many people to join into different servers to observe whales and squirrels to identify different species to help our understanding of evolution and natural selection.

In my opinion, the ecosystem and all life forms are crucial in our survival. Especially since we all have our roles to play. To have people watching our forests and identifying the species and changes, could be a huge break in our scientific discoveries. Secondly, google maps and other maps are such a huge part in our ability to navigate the world.

Crowdfunding is the process of raising money for a cause via donors who are interested in supporting it (e.g. GoFundMe). Crowdsourcing is the process of collecting information at a wide scale by users online (e.g. Foldit). Citizen science is a type of crowdsourcing that allows users to actually participate in studies they are interested in (e.g. Zooniverse). These three concepts all involve using the community to help with big projects. The way in which volunteers are allowed to participate is what differentiates the three.

Crowdfunding is when large amounts of people donate money towards a specific goal or project. Crowdsourcing is when you outsource information from the public. Foldit is a good example of this because it allows the user to play a game while gathering data. Citizen science is a way for researchers to gather information from all around the globe by getting input from the general public. All of these things are a way for large numbers of people to come together for a certain goal, but the means are very different.

Crowdfunding is when people put their ideas out on the web and get funding from people over the internet for their ideas. One example of this is someone on Kickstarter getting funding for their documentary on the impact of a popular science-fiction television show. Crowdsourcing is getting the support of people through their skills or time, not through funding. For example, a pill bottle for patients with Parkinson’s was crowdsourced, where many people over the internet worked together to test and fine-tune the idea to get the pill bottle to work right. Citizen science is a specific type of crowdsourcing where researchers use tons of people on the internet to help them analyze the data they have collected. One example of this is the Davy Notebooks Project where people can help transcribe the works of Sir Humphry Davy, lightening the load of historians who study his works. Citizen science and crowd-sourcing are very similar, citizen science is just a very specific type of crowd-sourcing. Crowdsourcing is similar to crowdfunding because both are ways for people to garner the help of people on the internet to complete projects. The main difference is that crowdfunding asks people for financial support and crowd-sourcing asks people for their time, expertise, or computing power, such as asking people to run simulation in the background of their computer. When software is "open-source" that means that people can see, and sometimes even alter, the original code of the software.

An example is this is people on Kickstarter asking for money to complete inventions, shows, or games. Crowdsourcing is getting people to help do something by asking a bunch of people to help. An example is on Foldit where people can play a game for researchers to get data on protein structures. Citizen science is similar to crowdsourcing but it focuses on normal people gathering scientific research and data for researchers. An example is Zooniverse where there are many science projects that anyone can contribute to. All of these are similar in that they rely on many people to fulfill their goals. They are different in that they are looking for different things.

Crowdfunding is defined as a collection of people from the internet contributing money towards a project. The money is used to finance the project or invention that is being created. Some examples of crowdfunding are Kickstarter and Patreon. Crowdsourcing collects information from the user such as data, information, geological information, and many more. An example of crowdsourcing is Waze as it asks users to report accidents and potential hazards. Citizen science is the involvement of citizens around the world to contribute to scientific research. An example of citizen science is Zooniverse. These concepts are similar to each other as they involve the public to contribute in some form. They differ as the public is contributing in different factors such as funding, collection of data, or more.

Crowdfunding is the process in which people all around the world contribute by donating whatever amount of money and using the money collected by the donation of thousands or even millions of people to finance a certain project. GoFundMe is an example of crowdsourcing, people can donate money to help in different situations, for example, to help citizens affected by the earthquake that hit Morroco.
Crowdsourcing is a way that companies or even individuals ask a certain group or groups of people about their opinions on different topics. CitizenScience.gov is a government website that is designed in order to help accelerate crowdsourcing by letting citizens get involved in different projects like exoplanet watches, etc.
Citizen Science is a process where citizens collaborate with professional scientists in order to answer different scientific questions, citizens can solve puzzles, gather information, and even analyze it. Citizen Science is an example of this, scientist collaborate with citizens and finally publish articles with all the information both of them have gathered.
These three are really similar in the way they use citizens and public aid to complete and reach their goals, now each of them has a different way of achieving it, some by donations, others by asking for opinions, and the last one by collaborating with professionals.
Open source projects are when a program makes its source code available for the public so they can do modifications that in their opinion might fit or help.

Crowdsourcing is to obtain information or input into a certain activity or project, a huge number of people's services, whether paid or unpaid, are frequently enlisted online. One example of this is the TikTok Parkinson's Disease bottle where the person makes a 3D print of his design and shares it with the public to spread the information and ask for input on how to improve the design. Citizen Science is the gathering and examination of information about the natural world by members of the public, usually as part of a collaboration with qualified scientists. One example of this is a scientist studying the air quality of NYC through cyclists. By using a specialized shirt that measures their heart rate and blood pressure to see how much the air pollution is affecting a commuter's body. Finally, crowdfunding is the process of supporting a project or business venture by collecting numerous modest donations from a large number of people, usually online. One example of this is SOAR InvenTeam's GoFundMe Page which helps them fund their research and building process of their device that helps students with ADHD. Overall, all of these correlate with each other as they all help people pursue their research and have a community help them to do that.

For instance, the organization Luv Michael works with hundreds of volunteers across the globe to raise money for Autism Awareness.
-Crowdsourcing is a way for a big task to be broken up into something more manageable by outsourcing to a large group of people for assistance.

A crowdsourcing project that I would like to introduce is tracking accidents on 20th and J8 in East Lancaster. I would ask people to take note of any accidents they’ve encountered on this street by including the date and time this accident occurred. It is very often that people crash on this street due to the inconvenience of the stoplight. Hopefully with the data collected i’d get the city to fix the stoplight and reduce the accidents on this street.
