Old Earth Believers deem that the continents have gone through different stages over a long period of time. Firstly was Pangea, about 225 million years ago when all the continents were together. Then, Laurasia and Gondwana about 150 million years ago. (See picture above), Thirdly when everything was as it was today except North America was connected to Europe 100 million years ago. Lastly, our world today.

The Young Earth believers do think that the continents were together, but separated much differently and all at once. Young Earth believers hold onto the idea of a flood. That in Genesis 6-9 in the Bible it explains the story of a global flood. So, the flood separated the continents in a short period of time rather than millions of years apart.

There are no similarities due to the fact Old Earth believes do not think the flood existed. They believe everything eroded (Such as the Grand Canyon) over a very long period of time. While the Young Earth believers believe everything eroded over a short period of time and a lot of water.

Young Earth believers think that a global flood happened. What is the flood? In Genesis 6-9 from the Bible it explains how the world was so cruel that God sent rain over the Earth. It rained for 40 days straight and flooded the Earth. This flood lasted a whole year which gives Young Earth believers a perfect reason why our world the way it is today.
