(Skin- Light tissue under the stratified squamous cells)</p><p><strong>IDENTIFICATION:</strong> Delicate, thin membranes with fibroblasts, collagenous &amp; elastic fibers. </p><p><strong>S/F:</strong> loose, open-weave structure with randomly oriented collagen, elastic, and reticular fibers, abundant ground substance, and numerous blood vessels directly support its functions of binding, support, nourishment, defense, and flexibility. </p>]]></description>

Red blood cells, with their biconcave shape, maximize oxygen transport, while white blood cells fight infection, and platelets, as cell fragments, initiate clotting to prevent blood loss.
