Rose Maxson is introduced as the loving wife of 18 years to Troy Maxson. They seem to be happy and in love until Troy told Rose that he was going to be the father of another women's baby. When the baby was born her mother died so Rose took on the mother figure for Troy's child. 5 years later when Troy died Rose continued to take care of Troy's daughter saying "...but I took on to Raynell like she was all them babies I had wanted and never had. Like I'd been blessed to relive a part of my life. And if the lord see fit to give me my strength... I'm gonna do her just like your day did you... I think Rose's character is unselfish because she always puts others before herself. She will do anything and everything for her family even if she's hurting. She is strong and a perfect role model for her entire family. She's been through so much her whole life but she keeps her head standing high, even when the world is holding her down she is doing her very best to hold herself up.

Strength: Rose is caring and motherly. She helps others so they can have a purpose too in the world and so that they always feel loved and welcomed.

This character relates to Rose because it's a poem about being cheated on. After 18 years of marriage she was cheated on leaving a her heartbreak and heartache. Rose gets cheated on and ends up raising the child her husband had with another women wanting to give her the best of what's in her, like the song says "Well, I will be the strongest that he ever knew" like how Rose wants to be the best mother for Raynell and "give her the best" of what's in her. I say this because each character grew so much from the beginning of the book to the end. Troy and Walter are similar in the sense that they don't realize things are changing. Walter doesn't think they should take that house and Troy doesn't think Cory should become a football player.

Rose and Ruth are similar by the fact that they are both loving mothers that will do anything and everything for their family. They both have problems with their husbands but learn to forgive and love.

Cory and Beneatha are similar since they both want something that the world keeps telling they can't have but they keep on trying to get it.
