Camels were used on the Middle Eastern battlefields during WWI. They were used as forms of transportation, and could carry lots of supplies over vast deserts. There were whole army divisions of just camel riders, but not in Europe!

Three different new technologies/ weapons used often were poison gas, machine guns, and flamethrowers.

Poison gas- Burns the lungs, eyes, and skin very badly.

Machine gun- machine guns could stop large groups of soldiers from advancing.

Flamethrowers- Shot out fire to clear out trenches or bunkers.

some animals that went to war was a horse and it was mostly used to pull wagons. they also brought dogs and they were important because they were the messengers. pigeons also sent message. mules and donkeys were used to carry heavy stuff.

in the eastern they spent most of their time in the trenches muddy ditchy deep in the ground the trenches would stretch miles across France. rats all around. they were terrified of sticking their heads on top because of 'over the top' soldiers would shoot them there was also a lot of movement when the :over the top: people would climb the trenches and shoot off the other soldiers. stratigies were that they had air support .

machine guns were used to shoot bullets fast so it could stop large groups of soilders from advancing and getting to them.

poison gas it's was used to burn lungs eyes and skin a small portion of it could melt your face

on the eastern front there were fewer soldiers per mile, so armies had more space to move. Battles happened across miles and often involved long marches through snow, swamps, and rocky hills. Soldiers didn’t stay in one place for long, and battles were more mobile, meaning armies attacked, retreated, and re-formed often. in the winter it was difficult because temperature fall to 0 degrees making soldiers struggle

Dogs were used as messengers for the Western Front to carry written notes through the trenches and through dangerous areas. They were also trained to find wounded soldiers that were left in the no man's land.

Cats were also used in the Western Front to control rats and mice in the trenches because they were a serious problem for the diseases they spread and food they ate. Cats also made the trenches a little more cleaner and were treated as pets.

Eastern front stretched from the Baltic sea in the North to the Black sea in the South. The land included thick forests, mountain ranges, wild rivers, etc... The trench was very long fewer soldiers per mile, so armies had more space to move.

Some of the strategies that soldiers did were putting barbwires around the trenches. Other was that they would dig up deep in the ground so they can make more trenches.

Life on the western front trenches are tuff, muddy ditches dug deep into the ground that stretch for miles across France. the fighting there feels stuck,you move forward but it rarely works, its cold, wet, filled with rats. the spaced are filled with barbed wire and craters from explosions its just back and forth with machine guns and and gas which make the attacking almost impossible.

planes were used to bomb the enemy from above when they tryed to cross through no mans land. Machine guns were used to keep the enemy away from the trenches by shooting them. trench morters were used to launch bombs high into the air to land o the enemy position

horses were mostly used during both of the east and western fronts, on the eastern front the wide open land allowed for cavalry units to be used longer in the war horses were used in attacks and scouting missions .

dogs were helpful in search and rescue missions after big battles in in forest or snowy fields and gave comfort to soldiers and helped them feel less alone.

carrier pigeons was helpful to send messages out to the long distance .
