This taxed tea, postage , and documents and news had to be made in England. The colonists didn't want to pay the Stamp Taxes, or pay the British their hard earned money, so they started to rebel. This led to the beginning of the American Revolution. One important event in the beginning of the war was the Boston Tea Party. This was when the Sons of Liberty, dumped tea into the Boston Harbor. Another really important part of the American Revolution was when Paul Revere rode to Lexington and warned them that the British was coming. When the British came, another important event occurred. Some of the most important events were the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Bunker Hill because the Battle of Bunker Hill gave the colonists the confidence to fight the English and the Boston Tea Party really kicked things off.

Some of the most important people were: George Washington because he led the led the Patriots. Paul Revere was also extremely important because if it were not for him, the colonists wouldn't have found out that the English were coming and they would've been creamed.

The American colonists were strongly independent. They wanted to do things for themselves. Great Britain was a long way away. The American colonists didn't want people an ocean away telling them how to live their lives. 2.) The British government decided to make the American colonies pay a large share of the war debt from the French and Indian War. 3.) Through the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and other taxes, the British tried to collect taxes that the American colonists considered harsh. 4.) The American colonists also thought that they should be able to send their own people to Britain's Parliament or at least vote for Britain's lawmakers. 5.) The combination of the harsh taxes and the lack of an American voice in Parliament gave rise to the famous phrase "taxation without representation." Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, and others called for an independent America, colonies free from British rule and interference. 6.) The colonists started stockpiling guns and ammunition in violation of British laws. Their defense of such a stockpile led to the shots fired at Lexington and Concord and the beginning of the Revolutionary War.
