Corinne Day (b 1965) is a British photographer whose influence on the style and perception of photography in the early 1990s has been immense. As a self taught photographer, Day brought a more hard edged documentary look to fashion image making, in which she often included biographical elements. Day is known for forming long and close relationships with many of her sitters (most famously Kate Moss), which have resulted in candid and intimate portraits. The most notable of these being the photographs of Moss in the 3rd Summer of Love editorial for the FACE magazine in 1990. Days approach as illustrated within the lifestyle and fashion magazines of the 1990s, came to be known as grunge and grew into an international style.

Location- outside the house at night because of the light on outside the house 

Relationship - personal it’s her house it’s her door however the angle it is on you can see more of the street then the door suggesting that they don’t want to go into the house maybe. 

Subtle details - the door is the forefront of the image yet there is more space around the door the street is dark and you can’t see what’s going on .

How does it leave me - it leaves me thinking that the photographer didn’t want to go into the house and that makes me wonder about the reason why they didn’t. 

Location - living room because the telly 

Relationships - again it looks like her stuff there her surroundings everything is close to the camera she was probably sitting on the chair when she took the photo its personal to her. 

Subtle details - there is a photo on the telly stand of two people so its not only her that lives there she has siblings which makes the room seem more like a family room.

How it leaves me – it leaves me wondering why the room was empty if it is a family room 

Location - living room 

Relationships - they pictures and the signs are placed on the fireplace suggesting warmth also the fireplace is a focal point of a home so the fact that they are on their makes me think whoever  put it there wanted everyone who came into the to see.

How it leaves me - this picture is a warm and inviting picture it shows home and family in a positive way and that whoever put the pictures and the teddy’s on the fireplace is proud . 

Location - probably the kitchen the image is quite well light so I think it was taken in the day time. 

Relationships - all the items in the photo belongs to the photographer because they are all close to the camera. 

Subtle details - the laptop is portable as is the phone so the photographer could leave at any time. The photo is in a kitchen not a bed room suggesting that if they wanted to go they could.

How does it leave me -  it doesn’t really make me feel anything 

Location - kitchen because of the kettle and cups 

Subtle details - the coffee has been placed on the top of the pile suggesting that the people in the house are coffee and not tea drinkers the kettle has water in it suggesting it’s just been boiled . 

Participant or viewer - participant they are no putting everything in close proximity or closing any part of the photo off. 

How it leaves me - it leaves me feeling like I’ve been invited into the home for a cup of coffee. 

Location - kitchen probably taken during the day because if the way the photo is light

Relationships - the trampoline is actually the main focus point of the photo the kitchen is just easier to see making me think she wants to be outside and not in. 

How it leaves me - confused because I can’t really focus on one thing that’s happening in the photo properly because my eye is being drawn to the outside.
