Difference between Graphic novel and original text: What is emphasized

In the graphic novel the pictures emphasize the look of Frankenstein's monster. With glowing yellow eyes, grey skin and very sharp features. But in the original text, since there are no pictures, the features of the monster are a bit different. For example in the text it says how the monster is an 8 foot tall creature, with yellowish skin that has black hair and black lips and white teeth. The description is a bit different.

How the graphic novel effects the overall story

The difference between the graphic novel and original text that they are told is a bit of a different way. The original text is more lengthy while the graphic novel is shortened. This means that some quotes and details may be left out of the graphic novel, which could affect the overall story.

Strengths and Weaknesses In Frankenstein

Some strengths are in the character, like Frankenstein's monster. Frankenstein's monster is very intelligent. It shows how he even taught himself the language. He is also self determined, sensitive, and strong. He found a way to survive on his own. Example of strength: "'I had been accustomed, at night, to steal a part of their store for my own consumption; but when I found that this inflicted pain on the cottagers, I satisfied myself with berries, nuts, and roots from a neighboring wood"' (Pg.61 Mary Shelly).

Some weaknesses are also in Frankenstein's monster. He has a frightening appearance, which makes him feel less of himself, and wonders why his creator made him look like that. He is resentful because his appearance is what keeps humans from treating him nicely. He is also very lonely. And from being treated in a bad way he grows to be hateful and wants revenge for his creator, Victor Frankenstein.

Example of weakness: "'I had admired the perfect forms of my cottagers- their grace, beauty, and delicate complexions; but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a transparent pool! At first, I was unable to believe that it was indeed I who was reflected in the mirror; and when I became fully convinced that I was in reality the monster that I am, I was filled with despondence and mortification"' (Pg.63 Mary Shelly).
