Thomas Green was an American soldier and lawyer who took part in the Texas Revolution of 1835–1836, serving under Sam Houston, after, he rewarded him with a land grant. He was born on June 8th, 1814, and died on April 12, 1864. The obstacles he went through were, he had to fight in the Texas revolution while he risked his life. Thomas Green was clerk of the Texas Supreme Court until the outbreak of the Civil War, when he became a Confederate leader.

3. Wanted reconstruction to go quick and easy, as long as the south came back.
Similarities between Congressional and presidential reconstruction
1. Both wanted to bring the south in as fast as possible.
2. Both wanted to free blacks as much as they could with bringing the country together.

2. They had to attack instead of just defending.

Confederate advantages
1. The confederate knew the land.
2. The confederate had the gulf of mexico as a import system.
3. All they had to do was defend and hold the north off, which is a lot easier.
Confederate disadvantages
1. Smaller Army.
2. Less resources (no assembly line)
3. No technology for communication
