Social Justice Research Project: EPA VICTORIA

http://www.epa.vic.gov.au/your-environment/air/vehicle-emissions-and-air-quality
 Organizations name:
The organization I chose that is against Vehicle emissions is called EPA Victoria. This is a pretty significant organization that helps people be more aware about what’s going on. It’s big in Australia because it works with huge things to help the environment including infrastructure projects.

Founders:
The founder of this organization has to be the government because it’s a state environment organization. But the EPA’s chairman is Cheryl Batagol and the CEO is Nial FInegan. They have a lot of people working for them including quite a few professors and other governmental workers.

The Objective:
They have a lot of projects and objectives and here is a list of their priorities for their state. Their objectives and their work involves odour and air quality, monitoring Victoria’s air, reviewing their vehicle emission’s regulations, EPA air watch, and Latrobe valley air monitoring. They’re really focused on clean air for their country.

 Organizations Projects:
They have quite a few projects that are helping their efforts for clean air and environment in general. One of their programs is called the Expertise Framework Program that gets together experienced workers that work together for the environment. Another strategy they use is the Engagement Policy and Environmental Citizenship strategy. This affects the communities, businesses and other organizations that all have to contribute to the emissions and stuff for the environment.

 Funding:
This organization is funded by all the residents in the country of Victoria. All the taxpayers pay for the organizations efforts for their environment and are forced to pay. So these people are forced to pay and that’s what keeps them motivated I guess, but I’m sure that their clean air also motivates them to pay and it makes it all worth it in the end.

 Getting Involved:
I don’t know if I could get involved because I’m out of the country but I’m sure there are ways. It looks like I could get involved but only if I were in the country, the ways I could help them put is by reporting littering, reporting pollution, reporting illegal dumping, sharing my opinion and reporting crazy exhaust emitting vehicles.

 Extra Info:
Some of the organizations information that I would like them to know is that they’re really dedicated for the safekeeping of their environment so much that taxpayers are forced to help. The other thing that I would like everyone to know is this random fact that they have posted and here it is. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can combine to form ozone (summer smog).

Phone: Call EPA 24 hours a day.1300 372 842 or 1300 EPA VIC
Contact Info:
Address200 Victoria Street,Carlton, 3053
DX MailDX210082
ABN 85 899 617 894

Postal addressGPO Box 4395 Melbourne Victoria 3001
FaxAustralia: 03 9695 2610

In 2010 the EPA helped with the cleanup after the Deepwater horizon rig had a big oil spill.

Social Justice Question 3
Item #1 How Can We Reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions: YouTube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82Nw6lyi6YM
I like this video because it talks about emissions and how much gets released into the atmosphere with the fuel you burn driving. It also talks about your carbon dioxide that you breathe out, but the fact that it’s natural because it comes from food and how that doesn’t matter. Those are a few things from the video but there’s more and it’s very educational.

Item #2 Air Pollution from Motor Vehicles: Book
https://books.google.ca/books/about/Air_Pollution_from_Motor_Vehicles.html?id=Hqsyv_KD0lgC&redir_esc=y
I found this book online and it looks really good and useful. I haven’t read the whole book but from the pages I previewed it talks a lot about the emissions of vehicles. It’s a good book and a good read to also learn more about engines instead of only their emissions.

Item #3 Global Carbon Emissions Level off Even as Economy Grows: Website
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/global-carbon-emissions-level-off-even-as-economy-grows/
I chose this video because it’s a lot more informational and a lot more information. This website is a lot more positive and has more positive information. I think people get tired of all those things that talk about what we do to the environment and this is a bit of a change.

Organizations Name:

Our organization's name is International Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Control Concerns. It has a great significance in helping people with their vehicles and the environment.

Founders of the Organization:

We have a few people working for our organization and company. The founders of [name of organization] is Josh Peters, Seth Boschman, and Rodney Falk. We have Mrs. Harder working for us that does our webpage designing and all tech stuff. We are partnered with FMF, Akrapovic and Magnaflow for our clean fuel burning exhaust. We are also partnered with Magnaflow for our other performance and safe car part. Which specialize in catalytic converters.

Our Objective/Mission:

These things are important to us because we want clean air for ourselves and a clean environment. We specialize in these products because we want awesome sounding exhausts for vehicles and having clean air altogether. But obviously if we have clean air coming through our exhausts we still need power in our vehicles and that comes in with our performance catalytic converters.

Our Strategies and Objectives:

Our goals for everyone that wants custom exhaust, to get what they want but also that our world won't get destroyed accomplishing these things. Our main objective is lower emissions with better sounding and performance vehicles. Along with all of the parts and stuff we are also trying to improve the air around us. Since the last decade or so engines have become safer for emissions and with our products you will have the perfect car setup.

How Organization is Funded:

We love our products and we get all of our products out to people with our big partners who do our advertising. When the new vehicle companies are using our exhaust systems it shows people what the next best product is. Most of the leading car manufacturers have the option to get our exhaust systems. This gets our products out to the world along with our showcase of vehicles at all top tier events. We are funded by our main sponsors and other organizations that donate to help our cause to lower emissions. With most of our leading sponsors like Hyundai and Dodge they put our exhaust systems in their higher model vehicles for lower emissions and greater performance. These exhausts inspire people to get them because they are affordable and are helpful for emissions. Our other big way of getting these out and selling is with our show cars that have these exhaust systems on them, that we brings to car meets and shows.

Getting Involved:

People can get involved with our efforts for safer air by buying our awesome exhaust systems. People can also spread the word by whatever means necessary so that one day everybody will be seen with these exhausts that help the environment.

Extra Information:

We also want people to know that with these exhausts its actually helping the engine run smoother which runs easier that increases fuel economy. We also want people to know that we are not all about getting rich but also wanting safe air to breath all around.

Contact Info:

Website: www.InternationalVehicleExhaustEmissionsControlConcerns.org

Number: 1-800-427-2017

Mailing Address:

1901 Corporate Centre Dr

Oceanside

CA 92056

USA
