For me, throughout the whole 3rd Term, the most difficult task I had to accomplish was the Paper Plate activity. At first glance, I thought the activity was pretty easy to accomplish considering how I didn't struggle that much regarding the module on Circles. However, as soon as I began trying to form a circle with the broken piece with my group mates, my whole mind just blanked. I couldn't figure it out despite the teacher giving many hints. Although I had group mates, I still couldn't manage to figure it out. Nevertheless, I decided to answer the questions with the best of my ability. Despite getting a low score, I found this task fun as not only does it challenge my brain to apply these lessons in the real world, but also teaches me that I still have room to learn and to improve my understanding.

One misconception I had during the 3rd Term was regarding one of the Chord Properties, more specifically the Perpendicular to a Chord Conjecture and the Perpendicular Bisector of a Chord Conjecture.

My misconception towards this particular lesson, was regarding the differences between these two conjectures. When talking about both these conjectures, I had thought that both conjectures were alike, and the only difference was their relationship between a circle's center. However, the 1st conjecture states how a line drawn from the center to any point on the circle, will have a chord that will be perpendicular to that point. The 2nd conjecture states how a line segment drawn perpendicular to a chord's midpoint, will pass through the center of the circle.

As quizzes and long tests approached, I decided to review beforehand, just to clarify other misconceptions like these. Doing so not only prepares me in taking tests, but also teaches me to discipline myself in addressing simple issues like these. Additionally, I made sure to make use of the materials given to me such as slides, handouts, books, etc. Using these materials are essential in understanding and familiarizing myself with the topics. In short, making use of what you have can really benefit in preventing anymore misconceptions from happening.

Out of all the long tests I took in my final term of the SY, I found pride when I found out about my grade in the last long test. I say this as despite the difficulties I faced, I managed to end this school year strong by doing well in my last long test. When I heard that this lesson would be my final lesson in Math, it sort of sparked inside me how I should act. I decided that I'd want to do well in my last long test, and so I did. I studied for countless hours just to prepare for this long test. Despite not acing the test, I still managed to get a good grade out of it. Overall, preparing for this long test and executing it well, taught me not only does hard work pay off, but will also prepare me for my new journey in the ASHS.

One group project we had during the 3rd Term was the Paper Plate activity. We were instructed to create a perfect circle using a piece of the broken plate as well as our knowledge on circles. For my part, I mostly drew the circle and explanation. My groupmates and I had a pretty difficult time in creating this circle. Despite this, we worked together with all our knowledge as to how we can accomplish this task. Nevertheless, this activity was pretty entertaining. Although we may have not accomplished this task, it felt like we have bonded even more considering how this was one of the last few days of the SY. In short, I managed to accomplish my tasks of creating the circle and providing an explanation. This truly was a fun experience for my last Math activity in the AJHS.
