Almost no rights for the queer community except the ability to change one's sex after a medical recommendation. The movement organised a social media hashtag that spread across Syria and gained popularity among liberals but it died pretty fast due to COVID gaining more attention.

As of the 2020s, Spain is considered one of the most culturally liberal and LGBT-friendly countries in the world.
- Being homosexual is legal in Spain since 1979.
- Same-sex couples are allowed to marry and adopt since 2005
- A new law project to protect trans people is coming soon. Known popularly as the “trans law,” it is one of the signature projects of the leftist coalition government in Spain, which would become the largest European country to let people legally change the name and gender on their ID documents without years of hormone therapy or a medical diagnosis.

In México, access to civil union is only recognized by 6/32 states, and marriage is recognized in 24 states. Adoption is legal in only 16 states. And even though, the fight for recognition is different at the social level; Mexico is a country where homofobia still plays a role in society, in some words, puns, and mostly curses; in general, a LGBTQ+ couple couldn’t walk in streets without receiving offensive comments. And of course, socially there is a concept of “being a men or woman” that you have to fulfill if you don’t want to be socially isolated.
