         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first three videos confirmed what I need about hearing impairments. For the kids I work with that have hearing impairments, I always make note of when they "zone out" or aren't engaged with my instruction anymore. When listening to the videos myself, my instinct was to turn up the volume at the first reduction of sound. Once I got to the severe section, I completely went into my own thoughts and wasn't paying attention anymore. <br><br>Learning about the FM systems gave me a better idea of what my kids hear in their classrooms. Thinking about other students having their own behavior issues and para educators talking, as well as me talking, was a lot. I had a headache when I listened to the videos, and adding the background noise was enough to drive me crazy. I can see how hard it is to have a hearing impairment in school, and even a slight distraction can really impede the student's ability to access curriculum. (Mueller)</div>]]></description>
