Increase in Teacher Salary:

• NBCT- increase salary by $10,000 yearly for NBC educators actively teaching in MD
• Additional $7,000 for NBC educators working in low-performing schools

Joint plan between MSDE and MHEC for teacher preparation programs:

• trainings will be carried out to determine if the programs are aligned with the Blueprint
• MBOE and PSTEB will develop regulations for teaching practicums and teacher prep programs

• MSDE will develop and expand standards to be used by local school systems
• Resources will be included such as lesson plans, student work samples, and unit plans
• Assessments will also be developed to ensure all students are ready by 10th grade in regards to english, math, science and social studies/history. 

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Committee:

• A new committee developed within the Governor's Workforce Development Board
• 6 members on the committee including state superintendent 
• Committee will build CTE framework
• Will set standards for secondary and post secondary institutions in the state
• Content qualifications, recruitment standards for CTE instructors while monitoring the progress of the programs

• Team will determine underlying causes for performance issues, evaluate behavioral health, and develop recommendations.
